Ashley Judd and Dario Franchitti have decided to part ways.
The actress and her IndyCar-racer husband announced Tuesday that they have separated after more than 11 years of marriage.
“We have mutually decided to end our marriage,” they said ”We’ll always be family and continue to cherish our relationship based on the special love, integrity, and respect we have always enjoyed.”
Over the past few months, there have been many rumors that Judd just might be considering a run for a Senate seat in Kentucky in the upcoming 2014 elections. A lifelong Kentucky Wildcats fan and a well loved life long native – pundits suggest she may have a real shot at beating Mitch McConnell.
It’s not known yet whether or not the couple is filing for divorce or just legally separated.
Judd married Franchitti in his native Scotland in December 2001 after a two-year engagement. They do not have any children.
