The 19th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was a fun evening here at the Shrine Auditorium last night. Not the most chic venue, but actors in town love this event, because it’s actors voting for actors.
It’s a kinder gentler awards ceremony! Julianne Moore was so sweet that she read the name of every actor in the Game Change cast.

Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Dick Van Dyke was so ebullient that he said that he was in a room with “the greatest generation of actors in the history of acting.”
He got that right if he was referring to actor Daniel Day-Lewis who won hands down for his Lincoln!
Anne Hathaway took home her first SAG Actor for outstanding female actor in a supporting role for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. ”I’m just so thrilled I have dental,” Hathaway said – that was an inside joke for SAG members who just want to work enough to qualify for insurance.
Our friend Bryan Cranston cracked us up as always. Winning again for best male actor in a drama series always self-effacing and funny he talked about being endowed with the statue then added “for tonight, at least, I’m well-endowed. Thank you.”
The cast of Argo won for best cast in a motion picture.
